In this episode, I talk to Josh Stryde, elite OCR competitor and author of the book Nutrition for the OCR Athlete: Laying out the details and strategies to help remove the guess work from your diet.

We start out talking about the Paleo diet and being a fat adapted endurance athlete. We also cover goal setting and how to plan your meals to meet your goals, how you should ease into a new meal plan or diet, how to break through a plateau and research-based nutrition vs. current fads.

Josh goes on to talk about how sleep plays into your weight loss and training. and a good rule of thumb for the amount of water you should be consuming on an average day.

Hey there!

I am Jay, the host of the Overcome and Run Podcast. I am a 31 year old active duty Navy Sailor, Obstacle Course Race (OCR) enthusiast, and podcast host. I have been a self proclaimed runner since 2013, and made the switch to OCR’s in 2015 and haven’t looked back. I am always training and trying new things in the sport of OCR and will be sharing my training successes and failures with my Overcome and Run community.

I’ll see you all out on the course!

Jay
